Welcome to the new and improved Woodland Iron & Firearms Website.  On this page, I will share musings, ranting and ramblings pertaining to the gun-bearing public.  Take it or leave it.

We have now been here a bit over ten years..a long time considering what the trade-rags pertaining to our industry have had to say of small, local-shops like ours in the last decade
or so.
You see...aside from local big-box appearances and the related splash caused by such events...we haven't actually seen great amounts of increased customers and related sales.
Kind of scary.
But we are still here and still practicing our craft and selling the way we started: answer questions, state educated opinions, teach if you can and do all honestly and price fairly.
It is possible to find customers that have been dis-satisfied with our work or methods...I can honestly count them all with one hand's-worth of fingers and also relate that most of those cases were not a question of our lack of ability or desire to serve.
Not bad for ten-year's work.
Stop by and see us and find out for yourself! Knowledgeable, capable, and thus-qualified shops like ours do still exist...despite times and tendencies of the moment; we are still here!
My statement for the moment? I was some years ago in the company of two gentlemen I have come to trust and respect for their ability to see the truth in life...elders of the Anishinabeg.
We were resting at a home on our way into northern-Canada and I had commented that the opinions they held on many things seemed to put them on the left-side of the political-fence.
A great teaching was given to me that night when I asked how they felt about a person's right to
possess weapons of ANY sort. After some short-time of smiling at the ground one man raised his head and said" Mike...you never give up your weapons, hey? Then the other leveled his eyes at mine and said, "Look what happened to us..."
     I am still learning...
